Dezat Frere et Soeur
With the 2021 vintage this most impressive French winemaker has moved into the third generation of the Dezat family to fly the flag for all things that are good in the villages of Sancerre, Pouilly and, for the first time, Menetou-Salon.
Following on from grandfather Andre, then his sons Louis and Simon, brother and sister Arnaud and Stéphanie carry on the dynasty and celebrated their ascension by building new cellars.
They will pursue a traditional form of ‘lutte raisonnée’ (which translates literally as ‘reasoned fight’), an approach which, whilst not strictly organic, places the trust on the grower to do what’s right for the land, the vines and the environment.
The inaugral 2021 harvest from Arnaud and Stéphanie are now in bottle and are very fine indeed.
Arnaud and Stèphanie bought 2 hectares of some of the finest land in Menetou-Salon in time for their 2021 vintage and we have added it to our portfolio.

Dezat Frere et Souer, France
Dezat Frère et Soeur wines are full and steely, chock-full of fruit with grapes grown on old vines producing low yields which adds to the depth and qaulity of the wine.

Sancerre is the very famous one, followed by Pouilly (as in Fumé) but Menetou is the insiders tip - a little less in money than the other two but equally as good.
