Château La Bastide
Château La Bastide is situated on the north end of the Corbières Appellation, in the Aude region, around 5 km from Lézignan- Corbières.
Nestled in a green setting surrounded by maritime influences, this impressive château which had already been mentioned on maps as early as 1770 and refurbished several times, offers a unique traditional character.
The estate is 180 hectares in total, with 60 hectares in the Appellation d’Origine Protégée Corbières. The soil is rich with limestone from slate terraces from the quaternary period with large gravel from alluvial origins that make up ideal growing conditions.
The vineyards are in the process of being to re-plant varieties with quality grape varieties. with the knowledge that the quality of wine starts in the vineyard this has been done favouring high density planting.
This allows for high trellising and leaf ensuring good exposure and excellent ventilation of the berries. This makes rot and disease less likely and promotes a heathy canopy of leaves.
The vineyards are managed with sustainable farming in mind that promotes soil life and expression of terroir in the finished wines. Concern for the environment is high on the list of priorities at the domaine.
To ensure the quality of the wines, berry picking is always done when the grapes are at their ripest and with very good maturity.
Having the ability to host up to 600 barrels, the Château La Bastide cellar is the ideal place to raise the high-quality wines.

Tradition Rouge
Château La Bastide
Ruby red in colour, Tradition Rouge is both smokey and spicy on the nose with plenty of red fruits. In the mouth, there’s black cherries and blackcurrant with soft, ripe tannins.
