Tradition Rouge, Château La Bastide
France
£12.95
A lush and juicy French red with raspberry tang and smooth, open finish, Tradition Rouge from the Corbières producer Château La Bastide is made from a blend of 60% Syrah, 20% Grenache and 20% Mourvedre from vineyards over 30-years old growing on quartz terraces.
There’s no oak ageing involved, the result being a youthful and vibrant wine.
Ruby red in colour, Tradition Rouge is both smokey and spicy on the nose with plenty of red fruits. In the mouth, there’s black cherries and blackcurrant with soft, ripe tannins. It’s a medium-bodied French red with good length.
