Terrasses de Baalbeck
Lebanon
£31.95
From Grenache Noir, Syrah and Mourvèdre grapes grown in chalky soil at more than 1,000 metres above sea level in the foothills of Mount Lebanon, Terrasses de Baalbeck has an attractive ruby hue of medium depth.
The nose is of fresh scrubland with a hint of jujube, while its finesse and elegance are clear as soon it touches the palate. A ‘powerful and muscular’ red wine, similar in style to the famous Musar, with tannins that reflect its potential for cellaring.
Maturation takes 20 to 22-months in large oak vats before being bottled without finings or filtering.
