Marselan, Via Istrum
Bulgaria
£16.95
Chateau Burgozone is a relative newcomer being founded in 2000. A boutique family run winery using both traditional, indigenous grape variety and more recognisable names for their excellent wine. Named after a Roman fortress built on the ancient Via Istrum, a key road in the Roman Empire linking the Danube Delta to Western Europe.
Marselan is a cross between Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache. Both varieties add their particular characteristics. Cabernet gives structure and firmness while the Grenache gives spicy warmth and bramble fruit ripeness to the palate of this charming red wine.
