Herdade do Mouchão is a family estate traditional winery, built in 1901, and the pioneer of Alicante Bouschet variety in Portugal. Dom Rafael Tinto was first released in 1990 and takes its name in honour of one of the estate’s founders.
Dom Rafael Tinto is a blend of Alicante Bouschet, Trincadeira and Aragonez grapes, aged for 12-months in wooden vats and a further 6-months in bottles.
This is a rewarding, fruit-driven red – soft, lightly textured and just the right level of acidity.
