Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Cuvée Réserve
France
£36.95
Roger Sabon Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Cuvée Réserve is a rich red of some pedigree.
Bramble fruits and leather with a hint of warm spice and soft oak undertones, just some of the characteristics of this opulent red. A bright ruby colour, a fleshy and hearty mouth, morello cherry with silky and fresh tannins.
Grenache, with smaller proportions of Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault are vinified and aged for up to 18-months in oak.
Jean-Jacques Sabon has left the family estate in the Rhône Valley to his son-in-law, Didier Negron. Didier, a talented wine maker in his own right, is a safe pair of hands and, coupled with the holdings of fine 50-year old vines in their vineyards in Châteauneuf sees their wines going from strength to strength.
