Rioja Gran Reserva
Spain
£19.95
A blend of organic Tempranillo and Garnacha grapes mainly from the Bayonda vineyard, along with those from other very old vineyards of the Llorens family.
On the nose there are complex forest fruit aromas with slight toasted nuances, whilst the mouthfeel is full of luscious ripe fruit.
This Rioja Gran Reserva from Biurko Gorri strikes a balance of intensity and elegance with very complex flavours and long, fruity tannins that make the finish smooth and tasty.
Biurko is a Basque word that means “place of two waters”, and is the name of an area in the town-land formed by two hillsides and a valley, and the name suggests that at some point time in the past two rivers flowed through this region.
