Pinot Grigio Friuli DOC, Priara
Italy
£14.50
There is bland, tasteless and insipid, mass produced Pinot Grigio available by the bucketful (literally!) in many pubs and bars around the country.
However, with careful and committed winemaking, from a quality wine estate, with low yields, Pinot Grigio is in fact a quite interesting grape variety.
This Pinot Grigio “Priara” from the Pradio Estate in the Friuli Grave D.O.C. northern Italy is a perfect example of how impressive it can be.
Full and powerful, expressive fruit that lingers long on the palate, it comes highly recommended and really comes into its own with some anti pasti or fresh pasta dishes.
